Christy Holstege Concedes in California's 47th Assembly Race

In a tough and closely watched race for California's 47th Assembly District, Palm Springs City Council member and former mayor Christy Holstege has officially conceded. Despite her best efforts, Holstege faced an uphill battle against a well-funded incumbent, whose campaign was backed by millions in outside spending. In her statement following the loss, Holstege expressed gratitude to her supporters, emphasizing the campaign's accomplishments. "While this wasn't the outcome we wanted, I remain deeply proud of everything we accomplished together," Holstege said. "We fought an uphill battle against an incumbent backed by millions of dollars in outside spending and still came within striking distance of winning." Holstege noted that, with the help of her supporters, her campaign was able to raise nearly $3.8 million. Despite the significant financial advantage held by her opponent, she celebrated the strong showing and the positive impact the campaign had in the district. Looking ahead, Holstege expressed hope for the future of the 47th District and vowed to continue her work for the community.
