A convicted felon suspected of fatally shooting a woman outside of a garage in Indio in 2016 re-entered a not guilty plea to murder and other charges Thursday.
Within one month, two Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies have been shot and killed in the line of duty. While serious crimes have started to dip here in the valley, assaults against officers saw an increase in 2022.
Whether it’s having officers in uniform or bringing marked units to Dep. Cordero’s funeral, departments from each end of the valley are planning to pay their respects to their fellow fallen deputy.
