As the Coachella Valley started to lure in more and more celebs, the entertainment industry in the valley had to try to keep up. So cue the radio industry. The American Legion built a control room, brought in equipment and in 1948 listeners across America were able to hear the words, “live from Palm Springs.”
Many roads in Palm Springs are named after famous celebrities from “Old Hollywood.” However, one pioneer and successful businessman made a great migration from New Orleans to Palm Springs in the 1920s. In doing that, he paved the way for dozens of marginalized families to live and prosper.
Starting April 1, live outdoor events may resume in Riverside County with limited spectators, including outdoor sporting events and live performances based on new state guidance.
