Tye Sheridan is good as the older J.R. Maguire in the new Amazon film “The Tender Bar.” Co-starring Ben Affleck, Lily Rabe, Daniel Ranieri, and Christopher Lloyd, the film is an adaptation of Moehringer’s memoir and how the folks around him become his inspiration.

I’ve loved Lily Rabe since I first saw her in “American Horror Story: Murder House.” Now, she’s starring with Ben Affleck in “The Tender Bar” from director George Clooney. In the film, she plays Dorothy Moehringer, the mother of author J.R. (played in the film by Daniel Ranieri as the young J.R. and the grown-up is Tye Sheridan).

It was a delight talking to Izaac Wang who has aged four years since wrapping up the shoot for “Clifford the Big Red Dog.” He plays Owen Yu, Emily’s (Darby Camp) neighbor and best friend. I spoke with Izaac to talk about the movie, working on the set, and if he’s more of a cat or dog lover.

This wonderful adaptation is written and directed by Rebecca Hall making her directorial debut. I spoke with Hall about her interest in adapting Larsen’s novel, her decision to shoot it in black-and-white using a 4:3 aspect ratio, the dynamics between the characters, and the meaning of the word passing.

I spoke with both Madison and Goodman about “I Know What You Did Last Summer” now streaming on Amazon Prime.
