The suspects were identified as Chance Sawyer, 24 of Palm Desert, and Brett Wellard, 33 of Palm Desert. Sawyer and Wellard are currently in custody at the John Benoit Detention Center for several counts of vandalism and illegal possession of a firearm.
Moon was arrested Monday morning and was being held on $10,000 bail at the John J. Benoit Detention Center, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
“As governor of California, let me do what apparently Manhattan Beach is unwilling to do, and I want to apologize to the Bruce family for the injustice that was done to them a century ago,” Newsom said to cheers from the crowd gathered for the signing ceremony near the property. “I say that as a proud Californian, but also mindful that we always haven’t had a proud past,” he said.
