Desert Hot Springs, CA
Two adults and two children were displaced by a fire in Desert Hot Springs today that spread from a group of trees to two nearby structures.
The fire was reported at 3:35 p.m. near the 66000 block of Second Street, said April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.
Multiple trees were found on fire, with flames spreading to a shed and then to another structure, Newman said. A man, woman, boy and girl were displaced and assisted by the American Red Cross. No injuries were reported.
As of 6 p.m., three dozen county firefighters were still on the scene battling the blaze, with Desert Hot Springs police officers assisting with crowd control.
The fire was the second to break out in Desert Hot Springs this afternoon.
