Cabazon, CA

Attempted murder charges were filed today against two men who allegedly shot a woman multiple times at a Cabazon home, leaving her hospitalized in critical condition.

Lanh Bui, 21, and Ernie Saldana, 48, both of Cabazon, had been scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon in Banning, but the hearing was postponed until next Wednesday.

Both men are being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning in lieu of $1 million bail, facing an attempted murder count and sentence-enhancing allegation of intentionally using a firearm.

Bui and Saldana were arrested Saturday at the scene of the shooting. A 46-year-old woman, identified only as Jane Doe in court documents, was found in the front yard of a home in the 52300 block of Maxine Avenue, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Beatty.

Investigators have not offered a motive for the shooting.
