A 42-year-old Desert Hot Springs man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of firing a handgun during a domestic dispute in Palm Springs.
Palm Springs police went to the 3500 block of Paseo Barbara about 9:50 p.m. Monday on “reports of shots fired in the area, and the sounds of a woman screaming,” according to a department statement.
Officers “learned that a domestic argument occurred at the location and during the argument, the male half, identified as Stuart McRobert, retrieved a handgun and fired several shots into the air,” according to police, who said no injuries were reported.
Just over three hours later, McRobert was arrested on Palm Canyon Drive, and a handgun was found in his car, police said.
McRobert was booked at the Larry D. Smith Correctional facility in Banning on suspicion of felony discharge of a firearm in a negligent manner, with bail set at $10,000.
He is expected in court Thursday morning.
