Standoff ends at Coachella home
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was on scene of a standoff Wednesday afternoon at a home in Coachella where a possibly armed suspect was inside.
The incident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. Wednesday and SWAT has the residence, in the 86000 block of Ave. 50, surrounded until around of 4:45 p.m.
It’s unclear what the suspect was wanted for at this time.

Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike.
