West Nile Virus Detected In Coachella

Officials say West Nile Virus has been detected in Coachella Valley for the first time this year.

Mosquitos from a routine collection site in Coachella tested positive for the virus.

The Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District is now increasing its control efforts.

No human cases of the mosquito-born illness have been reported in the area.
