Iconic Ruby Slippers Up for Auction, Pamela Hayden Retires from The Simpsons, Billie Eilish Named Apple Music Artist of the Year

In exciting entertainment news, a piece of movie history is heading to the auction block. Judy Garland's iconic ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz, valued in the millions, will be auctioned next month. There are only four known pairs of these slippers, and these particular ones have a thrilling backstory, having been stolen in 2005 and recovered years later through an FBI sting operation. The auction coincides with the release of Wicked, a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, adding extra buzz around the slippers and the infamous Wicked Witch's hat, also up for auction. In other news, after 35 years, Pamela Hayden, the voice behind Bart Simpson’s sidekick Milhouse on The Simpsons, has announced her retirement. At 70, Hayden has voiced dozens of characters on the show, and her final appearance will air on November 24th. Billie Eilish has been named the 2024 Apple Music Artist of the Year. Known for her cultural impact, especially on young women, the 22-year-old singer has received numerous accolades, including Grammy and Oscar nominations. She was the inaugural winner of this award in 2019. Finally, Anne Hathaway has joined the cast of Verity, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling thriller. Hathaway will star as Verity Crawford, a famous author whose incapacitation leads to a psychological thriller that takes viewers on a ride through past and present. Verity sold a million copies in 2023 alone, continuing Hoover's streak of success.
