PSUSD Distributes 1,200 Boxes of Fresh Produce to Families in Need

The Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) is helping local families in need by distributing 1,200 boxes of fresh produce. The effort is funded by a $150,000 grant through the LFPA Farms Together program and was hosted at the district’s administrative building in Palm Springs. Organizers emphasized the importance of supporting the community during challenging times. "It’s an absolute honor to help out," a PSUSD representative said. "There’s a lot of need, and we’re excited to continue engaging in projects like this." This initiative was made possible through a collaboration between Community Alliance with Family Farms, California Association of Food Banks, Farms Together, PSUSD, and The Pack House at Aziz Farms. These partnerships aim to address food insecurity and ensure ongoing access to healthy produce for local families. The district plans to expand similar programs in the future to better serve the community’s needs.
