Gladiator 2 and Wicked Take the Spotlight in Manny's Weekend Review

Gladiator 2 and Wicked: A Star-Studded Weekend at the Box Office This weekend, two highly anticipated films hit the big screen: Gladiator 2 and Wicked. Gladiator 2 brings viewers back to the Roman Empire, where Paul Mescal stars as Lucius, the new hero stepping into the legendary arena. Directed by Ridley Scott, the film boasts an impressive cast, including Denzel Washington as a vengeful former slave and Pedro Pascal as a Roman general. Returning to the story is Connie Nielsen as Lucilla. With breathtaking battle scenes and intense drama, the sequel pays homage to the Oscar-winning original. Though some subplots echo the first film, the stellar cast delivers a compelling experience. Manny the Movie Guy gives Gladiator 2 three out of four kisses. Meanwhile, Wicked transports audiences to the magical land of Oz, reimagining the story before Dorothy’s arrival. Starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, the movie features live-to-tape performances that bring the beloved Broadway musical to life. Directed by Jon M. Chu, the film explores sisterhood, love, and power, ending on a cliffhanger that sets up next year’s second act. Manny praises its heart, courage, and dazzling performances, awarding Wicked a perfect four out of four kisses.
