Eight4Nine Restaurant Hosts Annual Wreath Auction for Local Nonprofits Eight4Nine Restaurant in Palm Springs is hosting its highly anticipated annual wreath auction tonight, combining holiday cheer with community support. The event benefits two beloved local nonprofits: the LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert and the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. This festive fundraiser has become a cherished tradition, drawing hundreds of attendees to bid on creatively designed wreaths. Some wreaths are fetching over $200, with standout pieces selling for as much as $1,000. One unique highlight of the evening is the chance to shout "849!" to secure a wreath for $849. According to owners Willie Rhine and John Paschal, this tradition began 25 years ago and was passed to them when it outgrew its original location. "It’s an absolute joy to give back to the community," said Rhine. "The LGBTQ Center and the animal shelter are causes close to our hearts." Those unable to attend in person can still participate in the fun by bidding online through the newsroom tab at NBC Palm Springs’ website. Online bidding remains open until 7 PM tonight. With lively energy, creative wreaths, and a charitable spirit, the Eight4Nine wreath auction is a festive way for the community to come together and support vital local organizations.
