Bigfoot Discovery Museum Closes After 20 Years as Owner Retires

After two decades of attracting visitors with its quirky charm, the Bigfoot Discovery Museum in the Santa Cruz Mountains is closing its doors. The museum, which has been a local landmark in Felton, will shut down as owner Michael Ruggs retires. The museum, located along Highway 9, featured Bigfoot sightings, statues, collectibles, and exhibits about the famous Patterson Gimlin film. Ruggs, who first encountered Bigfoot as a child, reflects on his time running the museum and the community support that made it a cherished destination. While the closure is bittersweet, Ruggs thanks the public for their decades of interest in the mysterious creature.
