A tragic turn of events at Palm Springs’ Festival of Lights Parade on Saturday night left 12 people injured after a police motorcycle crashed into the crowd. Of the injured, three individuals remain hospitalized, with their conditions closely monitored. Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills shared updates on the department's immediate response and outlined plans for an internal review. "We are halting all motorcycle operations to assess procedures, training, and equipment," Mills stated. An internal affairs investigation and a comprehensive operating procedure for future events will follow. The chief also confirmed that the incident, which reportedly involved stunt-like maneuvers, was not authorized and has led to a strict prohibition on such behavior.
