Riverside Supervisor Kevin Jeffries Bids Farewell After 12 Years of Service
Supervisor Kevin Jeffries, the longest-serving member of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, marked the end of his political career at his final board meeting on Tuesday. Jeffries, who officially retires on January 1st, used the occasion to reflect on his 12 years of service while receiving accolades from his colleagues.
Representing Lakeland Village, Jeffries was the sole Republican on the board during his tenure. He was first elected in 2012 and went on to serve three four-year terms, consistently earning the support of his constituents in each election. Known for his fiscal conservatism and dedication to his district, Jeffries leaves behind a legacy of steadfast leadership.
His successor, former Assemblyman Jose Medina, a Democrat, is set to be sworn in around New Year’s Day. Medina, who has represented the region at the state level, brings a new perspective to the board as it transitions into 2024.
“Kevin’s impact on Riverside County is undeniable,” a colleague noted during the meeting. “He has been a passionate advocate for his constituents and a thoughtful voice on this board.”
As Jeffries steps away from public office, Riverside County residents will see new leadership shaping the future of the board.
