Cathedral City Firefighters Bring Smiles at Holiday Posada Celebration
Cathedral City Firefighters Spread Holiday Cheer at Holiday Posada The Boys and Girls Club in Cathedral City was filled with laughter, joy, and holiday spirit as families gathered for the annual Holiday Posada celebration. Hosted in partnership with the Cathedral City Fire Department, EMS, and Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, the event brought the community together for a festive evening of giving and togetherness. Fire Chief Contreras, who has led the Cathedral City Fire Department for two years, shared the story behind the event. "This all started with an idea during our pancake breakfast with Supervisor Perez. It’s amazing to see how it grew into this. It’s about bringing joy to the community and giving back," he said. Firefighters and EMS crew members volunteered at the event, handing out toys to excited children. Among the many highlights of the night, an eight-year-old named Mia enthusiastically searched for her favorite tie-dye items, including bracelets and headbands, with the help of a smiling volunteer. "It’s all about seeing their smiles," said Vincent, one of the volunteers. The event catered to children of all ages, with some receiving everything from toys to bicycles. "This is what public service is all about—putting smiles on people’s faces," said Chief Contreras. "The men and women of the Cathedral City Fire Department are dedicated to giving back, and events like this make it extra special." In addition to gift-giving, attendees enjoyed delicious food served by community leaders and the Cathedral City Fire Department. Supervisor V. Manuel Perez’s office played a key role in organizing the event, alongside a community-driven toy drive that brought in an array of gifts for local families. The Holiday Posada proved to be a beautiful example of the Cathedral City community coming together to celebrate the season of giving. With its mix of gifts, food, and holiday spirit, the event left smiles on the faces of children and families alike.
