Recycle Your Christmas Tree for Free in Riverside County

Riverside County is reminding residents of their annual Christmas tree recycling program. This initiative allows residents to recycle their natural Christmas trees for free, turning them into mulch instead of sending them to landfills.

Residents have two convenient options: leave the tree curbside for collection or drop it off at one of the county's designated locations. Drop-off sites include the Burrtec Recovery and Transfer Station in Cathedral City and the station in Coachella.

Before recycling, all decorations, lights, tinsel, and tree stands must be removed. This ensures the trees can be processed efficiently and turned into useful mulch for landscaping and agricultural purposes.

This eco-friendly program is a simple way for residents to reduce holiday waste and contribute to sustainability efforts in the community. For more details on the program or specific drop-off locations, visit the newsroom section of our website.
