Severe Weather Hits North Texas: Flooding and Storm Warnings
North Texas faced severe weather today, causing significant disruptions across the region. Heavy rains led to flash flooding in Dallas and Fort Worth, creating hazardous road conditions and delays before midday. Some of the largest counties in the area were under flash flood or severe thunderstorm warnings through the noon hour.
The storms brought not only flooding rains but also small hail and gusty winds, further complicating travel. Both DFW Airport and Dallas Love Field implemented ground stops for a time due to lightning and hail, which forced ramp workers to remain indoors for safety.
As the storm system pushes eastward, a tornado watch has been issued for parts of east and southeast Texas. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay alert as severe weather conditions, including the potential for tornadoes, persist.
Authorities urge caution for those traveling on the roads and recommend checking flight statuses if traveling by air. This system is expected to continue impacting the region as it moves eastward throughout the day.
