La Quinta High School to Undergo $87 Million Renovation Starting in 2025
La Quinta High School is set to receive a major facelift, with over $87 million allocated for significant upgrades. This ambitious project, funded by Measure A and approved by the Desert Sands Unified School District (DSUSD) Board, aims to modernize the campus while enhancing educational opportunities for students.
Key renovations include the construction of a two-story classroom building, enhancements to the gymnasium, and improvements to the building housing culinary arts, public safety, and medical health programs. These upgrades are part of DSUSD’s broader initiative to utilize the $675 million general obligation bond approved earlier this year.
In addition to these enhancements, all DSUSD schools, including La Quinta High School, will receive new access control systems to bolster campus security. These measures reflect the district's commitment to creating safer learning environments for students and staff alike.
Renovations are expected to begin in 2025, with an anticipated completion date in 2028. The improvements aim to provide state-of-the-art facilities that support both academic and extracurricular programs, ensuring students have the tools and resources to succeed in a modern educational landscape.
Stay tuned for updates on this transformative project as it unfolds!
