Small Plane Crashes Through Roof of Building Near Fullerton Airport
A small plane crashed through the roof of a commercial building just east of Fullerton Airport today, sparking a fire and injuring nearly a dozen people.
The crash happened shortly after 2:30 PM on Raymer Avenue. Fullerton Police and Fire crews quickly responded to the scene, evacuating the building, which is a furniture warehouse. Video from the scene shows a large hole in the roof where the plane struck.
According to authorities, 18 people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The plane, a homemade four-seater, had just taken off from Fullerton Airport and was attempting to land when it crashed, according to police. The number of people on board remains unknown.
This incident comes just two months after another small plane crash near the airport, which left two people with moderate injuries.
