New Details Emerge in Brutal 2020 Aguanga Murders

Authorities in Riverside County held a press conference today, offering new insights into the tragic murder of seven Laotian immigrants in Aguanga, which shocked the local community in 2020. The victims, who were found dead at an illegal marijuana operation, were believed to have been killed while they slept. Investigators now classify the killings as targeted, potentially tied to a Laotian street gang from the San Diego area. Despite intensive efforts, no suspects have been named, though three persons of interest have been identified in the case.

The murder scene, located in the rural area of Aguanga near Temecula, revealed more than 1,000 marijuana plants and hundreds of kilograms of processed marijuana. However, authorities were perplexed when no cash was found, suggesting the murders could have been driven by a robbery gone wrong. Over the years, new evidence has surfaced, including documents written in Laotian that could offer crucial leads. Investigators also tracked down a black van possibly linked to the crime, but unfortunately, it was totaled and destroyed shortly after the murders, hindering the investigation.

Officials are continuing their investigation, reaching out to witnesses and family members for additional clues. They are urging anyone with information to come forward. Despite the passage of time, authorities remain hopeful that these new developments will bring them closer to solving the case.
