Dangerous winds prompt Southern California Edison to shut off power to thousands of customers

Destructive winds and intense weather is forecast to last through Thursday, bringing with it severe fire danger and widespread power outages across Southern California.

As of Tuesday afternoon, about 7,500 customers in Los Angeles and Ventura counties were without power.
More than 400,000 people were under consideration for a shutoff, according to the Los Angeles Times.

This is the third time in as many months that strong Santa Ana winds have prompted Southern California Edison to cut power to its customers.

Southern California Edison warns that extreme winds can affect power. As Southern CA experiences this windstorm through Wednesday, it’s important to be prepared for more possible power outages.
