Indio Police Warn of 911 Disruption for AT&T Users

The Indio Police Department has issued a warning about a disruption to 911 services for AT&T users in the area. While the issue is being resolved, the department has advised AT&T customers to call an alternative emergency number, which is displayed on screens for those in need of assistance. Authorities hope to restore normal service promptly and ensure public safety is not compromised.

In Palm Springs, wireless 911 services were fully restored after a brief outage that affected calls overnight. The service disruption was caused by unforeseen technical issues with Frontier, the provider for the 911 system. During the outage, all wireless 911 calls were rerouted to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), while the 911 tech system was temporarily down. Fortunately, by tonight, services are functioning normally again.

This disruption follows a series of similar outages over the past few months, including one in October of last year, raising concerns over the reliability of emergency communication systems. Local authorities are urging a swift resolution to prevent further issues.
