PSPD 911 Services Fully Restored After Thursday Outage

Palm Springs Police Department 911 Services Are Fully Back Up This Morning After Being Shut Down Thursday Night By An Outage.

During That Time, All Wireless 911 Calls Were Being Rerouted to The California Highway Patrol.

It's Being Blamed On "Unforeseen Technical Issues" With Their Provider, Frontier.

On Facebook, Police Chief Andy Mills Expressed Frustration With Their Cellular Provider Saying "I've Been A Cop Since 1977 And Do Not Remember A 911 Failure, Only With These Carriers."

He Also Stated That The City Attorney Is Looking Into Legal Action.

He Went On To Say That The Palm Springs Police Department Has Had Multiple Calls With Other First Responder Agencies Who Use The Same Provider.

This Comes After A Series Of Outages Over The Past Few Months Most Recently In October Of 2024.
