Southern California Faces Deadly Wildfires

Evacuation orders are underway in Southern California, affecting more than 160,000 residents as catastrophic wildfires continue to ravage the region. The fires have claimed the lives of at least 16 people, with officials fearing that number will rise as the flames spread. The fires, burning nearly 40,000 acres, have destroyed communities, including the Pacific Palisades Restaurant, owned by the Pellegrini family for 40 years. Local residents, like Dan O'Connor in Malibu, are witnessing their homes reduced to nothing but debris, while some have managed to survive. With winds calming, firefighters are making progress, but critical fire conditions remain, and the Santa Ana winds are expected to worsen the situation on Sunday.
