Clear Skies and Dry Conditions Continue with Mild Temperatures in Coachella Valley

The weather across the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas is looking clear and dry today, with mild temperatures expected to reach close to 70 degrees in many parts of the region. The clear skies are a welcome sight, as dry conditions persist, making it feel like the area is in the midst of a prolonged dry spell. Temperatures in Palm Springs are forecasted to hit a high of 66 degrees, a little below the 70-degree mark that had been anticipated for the day. Other local areas like Yucca Valley and Indio will see highs in the low 60s, with winds picking up in some places, particularly around the San Gorgonio Pass.

The Santa Ana winds are continuing to impact the region, with gusts reaching 19 miles per hour in places like Yucca Valley and 1429 Palms. These winds are pushing through the area from the northeast, contributing to the dry conditions. Along with the winds, an air quality alert is in effect across Southern California, including Riverside County, due to poor air quality from the dry winds. This alert could be extended into tomorrow, depending on conditions.

Despite the dry conditions, the temperature is expected to stay near seasonal averages with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s across the Coachella Valley today. Temperatures in places like Cabazon will only reach 60 degrees, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s in most areas. The forecast shows a gradual warming trend starting tomorrow, with mid-70s expected by Thursday, thanks to a high-pressure ridge settling in.

However, significant changes could be on the horizon. A shift in the wind direction is expected on Friday, potentially bringing a little moisture to the region. And while the forecast for Sunday shows cooler temperatures in the upper 60s and possible sprinkles, the amount of rainfall remains uncertain, and it looks like the system will mostly impact areas along the coast.

The forecast for the coming days looks like this: temperatures around 70 degrees today, with middle 70s by Wednesday and Thursday. A slight dip in temperatures is expected on Sunday with a chance of some light rain. Weather conditions will continue to evolve, so stay tuned for updates on the forecast.
