Riverside County Fire Department Warns of Fraudulent Donation Solicitations
The Riverside County Fire Department is alerting the public to fraudulent donation solicitations that have recently been reported in the area. Scammers are claiming to represent the Fire Department and are requesting donations at various levels, with amounts ranging from $150 to as much as $3,000.
In a statement, the Fire Department clarified that it is not engaged in any fundraising campaigns or solicitation efforts. Any phone calls, visits, or messages asking for monetary contributions on behalf of the department should be regarded as fraudulent.
Residents who are approached by these scammers are urged to follow these important steps:
Do not provide any personal, financial, or payment information to anyone making such requests.
Immediately report the incident to local law enforcement.
