Amex Tournament Boosts Coachella Valley's Economy with Golf, Music, and Charity

The Coachella Valley is buzzing with excitement as the second day of the prestigious Amex Tournament takes center stage. This four-day event, hosted at the PGA West in La Quinta, has become an annual economic driver for the region, attracting thousands of visitors and pumping millions of dollars into the local economy. On the heels of the opening golf rounds, the night’s entertainment featured country music sensation Little Big Town, with an estimated 10,000 attendees enjoying the blend of world-class golf and live music.

For nearly 60 years, the Amex Tournament has brought a significant boost to the region’s hospitality industry, with hotels, short-term rentals, restaurants, and shops all seeing a surge in business. Visitors flock to the area not only for the tournament but also for the vibrant concert series that follows each evening. La Quinta’s mayor highlighted how the event elevates the city year after year, with both local residents and out-of-town guests coming together to support the community’s economy.

The tournament’s charitable impact is equally impressive, with proceeds going directly to local organizations, including the Find Food Bank, YMCA, and Boys and Girls Club. At least $1 million is expected to benefit these causes, further enhancing the event’s role in giving back to the community. As the weekend progresses, the Coachella Valley looks forward to more great performances, including Journey tomorrow night, and another round of golf action.
