Santa Ana Winds Continue, Red Flag Warning and High Wind Advisory for Southern California
Happy Monday! We’re tracking another round of Santa Ana winds as we begin the week. Unfortunately, it feels like this windy pattern has been back to back, and we aren’t quite out of the woods yet.
As we head into Tuesday, a red flag warning and a high wind advisory are in place across Southern California. The gusty winds, combined with extremely dry conditions (with humidity levels at 0%), are raising the fire threat to critical levels. These dry, gusty conditions will continue into Tuesday evening, around 10 p.m., so residents are urged to stay cautious, especially near the wind corridor, the San Gorgonio Pass, and areas in the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, and Ventura Counties.
Temperatures today reached a high of 71 degrees, which is typical for this time of year. However, the temperature roller coaster will continue this week, with a brief cooling period followed by a warming trend midweek, before cooling down again later in the week.
Tuesday will be a transition day as we see warmer conditions with winds picking up once more. By the weekend, a trough of low pressure is expected to bring measurable precipitation, though only light showers are anticipated on the desert floor.
For the upcoming week, Tuesday’s high will reach 67 degrees, with temperatures climbing into the 80s on Wednesday and Thursday. By the weekend, we’ll be back in the 60s with a chance of rain. Stay tuned for more weather updates as we continue tracking these conditions!
