Veterans in Indian Wells Receive Life-Changing Gifts of Transportation, Thanks to National Auto Body Council

In a heartfelt event in Indian Wells today, three veterans were gifted life-changing vehicles, thanks to the efforts of the National Auto Body Council (NABC) and its Recycled Rides program. The NABC, which consists of professionals from the collision repair industry, partners with insurance companies to donate vehicles that are then restored to like-new condition by skilled technicians. These refurbished cars are then given to individuals in need of reliable transportation, often through local charitable organizations.

Dale Ross, the program director for NABC’s Recycled Rides, explained the profound impact that having access to reliable transportation can have on a person’s life. "For many of us, getting to the grocery store, going to work, or attending school is something we don’t think twice about," he said. "But for these veterans, a vehicle means independence, mobility, and the ability to live their lives to the fullest."

The veterans, visibly moved by the gifts, expressed their gratitude and acknowledged the significance of the moment. One recipient shared, "It’s emotional, but overwhelming. I’ve been in need of a vehicle, and now I can get to work, grocery shopping, and school. This really changes everything for me." Another added, "I just really appreciate how the community came together to support us. It means so much."

The NABC’s Recycled Rides program aims to change and save lives by providing these life-altering gifts to those who need them most. As part of their mission, they encourage others to get involved, either through donations, volunteerism, or supporting their local Recycled Rides events.

The gifts presented today are more than just vehicles; they are symbols of community, care, and the power of giving back. For the veterans in Indian Wells, this gesture will enable them to regain independence and improve their quality of life, one ride at a time.
