College of the Desert Restarts Superintendent Search
The College of the Desert has resumed its search for a new superintendent/president after a previous attempt was canceled due to a confidentiality breach by members of the search committee. On Friday, the Board of Trustees approved a new structure for the search committees, which will include 19 voting members representing faculty, staff, students, and community affiliates. One significant change is that members from the canceled search will not be reappointed to avoid any potential bias. Although the college initially aimed to hire a new president by February, the new target is to have someone in place by May or June, with a hard deadline of June 30. The updated timeline ensures a more transparent and inclusive search process moving forward.
