Inland Empire Community Foundation Boosts Local Nonprofits in Coachella Valley
The Inland Empire Community Foundation is playing a significant role in uplifting nonprofit organizations in Riverside County, with a particular focus on the Coachella Valley. The foundation channels locally raised funds to support key initiatives aimed at addressing community needs. One such initiative is the Build Coachella Valley Fund, which raised $200,000 this past year to help fight food insecurity in the area. Eight local organizations, including food banks, food pantries, and Meals on Wheels programs, were recipients of the funds.
One standout nonprofit benefitting from these efforts is the Brothers of the Desert, a group dedicated to creating a more just and equitable community for Black men in the Coachella Valley. They recently organized charitable events, including a college scholarship initiative, for which they sought the assistance of the Inland Empire Community Foundation. The foundation's expertise in securing and managing funds has been crucial for the longevity of the scholarship program.
As the foundation continues its work, it welcomes a new chairman, Jesse Melgar, a Coachella Valley native with a vision to further expand and strengthen community partnerships. With its focus on sustainable growth and support, the Inland Empire Community Foundation remains a cornerstone in the region's philanthropic efforts.
