Bird Song Festival Celebrates Cahuilla Heritage

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians hosted their annual "Singing the Birds" Bird Song and Dance Festival at Palm Springs High School. Singers and dancers from across Southern California gathered to honor Native American heritage through traditional performances. Bird songs recount the migration of the Cahuilla people and their connection to landscapes, weather, and wildlife. The festival was free and open to the public, offering attendees a chance to experience this cultural tradition. This event highlights the importance of preserving and celebrating Native American heritage.
