Spirit Airlines Introduces Dress Code Following Viral Crop Top Incident

Spirit Airlines has introduced a new dress code policy aimed at maintaining decorum onboard its flights. The policy prohibits overly revealing clothing and offensive tattoos, a move prompted by a viral October incident where two women accused the airline of sexism after being removed for wearing crop tops.

Guests Jamie and Doug Baker weighed in on the debate, both firmly supporting the airline’s decision. Jamie noted that what the women wore were closer to undergarments than crop tops. “Shame on them,” she said, adding, “At the end of the day, I’m going to take standards, class, and elegance seriously.”

Doug agreed, criticizing the social media influencer culture that often prioritizes physical appearances. “It saddens me that influencers thrive on saying, ‘Hey, look at me. I’ve got a good body. Let me show it off.’ That’s pathetic. Spirit did the right thing,” he remarked.

The Bakers also praised the airline for taking a stand, with Doug jokingly noting that Spirit offers "a bag of olives if you have the courage to use their lavatory." Both emphasized the importance of maintaining standards while traveling and supported the airline’s discretion in determining what attire crosses the line.

While the updated policy has its critics, Spirit Airlines stands firm in its mission to "clean up the skies" with a dress code that aims to balance comfort and respect for fellow passengers.
