Coachella Valley Weather: Cooler Temps and Gusty Winds Before a Warm Weekend
The Coachella Valley is experiencing slightly cooler-than-average temperatures, with a high of 69°F today—just below the seasonal norm of 72°F. Evening temperatures are dropping into the 40s for much of the region, with Joshua Tree dipping as low as 38°F overnight.
Winds remain a factor, especially near the San Gorgonio Pass and along Highway 62, where gusts are expected to persist into Thursday morning. Drivers should be aware of potentially breezy conditions in these areas before winds calm later in the week.
While the radar shows moisture moving east into Colorado, the region is drying out as a ridge of high pressure builds. Friday and Saturday will bring seasonal temperatures with lingering clouds. By Sunday, a warming trend will push temperatures into the 80s, slightly above average for this time of year.
Looking ahead, meteorologists are tracking another system expected to arrive the following weekend, bringing a chance of scattered showers to Southern California. While no rain is expected for the desert floor, coastal areas could see much-needed precipitation.
For now, expect comfortable temperatures, calming winds by the weekend, and a return to warmer conditions as February approaches.
