Marine Corps Honors Student with $500 Check

Earlier this week, the Marine Corps presented a $500 check to Desert Hot Springs High School student Eliel Gallego, recognizing his achievements. Gallego made history as the first graduate of the school’s JR-ROTC program to complete Marine Corps recruit training. The bonus was donated by the First Marine Division Association, a local nonprofit made up of Marine Corps alumni. Gallego’s hard work and commitment to service were celebrated, as the award also reflects his dedication to his community. This recognition is a significant milestone for both Gallego and the school’s ROTC program.
