Egg Watch Continues as Weather Clears Up for Jackie and Shadow in Big Bear

It's egg watch time, and while the countdown to the hatching of Jackie and Shadow’s egg continues (about 30-36 days left), the weather in Big Bear is giving viewers a sigh of relief. With no snow in sight, the majestic view of a beautiful sunset over the nest provides a peaceful moment for the pair, who seem content in their chosen spot. “This is beautiful,” Jackie seems to say, as the snow quickly melted away, offering the couple a drier environment for the rest of their nesting period.

Back in Palm Springs, the weather is also cooperating with locals heading to the Village Fest tonight, running from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The weekly event is a favorite for those who enjoy exploring local businesses and food offerings, including Sarah Sweets’ delicious toffee and pumpkin chocolate bread. For those attending, temperatures will be in the 50s, so a light jacket is recommended.

As for the weather across the Coachella Valley, today’s high reached 71°F, close to the seasonal average of 72°F. The forecast for the weekend is looking great with light winds, ideal for outdoor activities, including hiking in Joshua Tree. Temperatures will rise through the weekend, reaching the 80s by Sunday and Monday, with minimal wind disruption.

Looking ahead, the first storm of the season is expected to arrive next Wednesday, bringing light showers to coastal cities and up to half an inch of rain to areas like Malibu and Los Angeles. The weather will remain dry in the valley until then, with clear skies and calm conditions through the weekend.

Stay tuned for updates on both egg watch and the weather, as we track a possible system next week that will bring a cool-down by Thursday.
