Palm Desert Organizers to Protest Trump Policies as Part of `50501 Movement'

Organizers from several Coachella Valley organizations will protest during a demonstration today against President Donald Trump's policies at the Palm Desert office of Rep. Ken Calvert, R- Corona.
  

The event is an offshoot of a nationwide protest, the ``50501 Movement'' (``50 states, 50 protests, 1 day''), during which other protests against the Trump administration will occur at government buildings and landmarks across the country.
  

Protesters are scheduled to gather at noon Wednesday, simultaneous with a demonstration at the State Capitol Building in Sacramento. According to organizers, representatives from several local committees on human rights, political accountability, and political organizing are expected to attend.
  

Medical workers and other community members convened at the same location on January 8th as part of the ``Hands Off Our Healthcare'' rally.
