This move comes as billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk, leading the Department of Government Efficiency—a non-governmental entity—continues to exert significant influence in reshaping federal agencies.

Musk, who vowed to cut $2 trillion from the budget, has already implemented aggressive cost-saving initiatives, including buyouts that have led to more than 20,000 federal employees leaving their jobs.
