Palm Springs Police Chief Offers Jobs to FBI Agents Facing Disciplinary Action Over January 6th Investigations

In an unexpected move, Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills has extended an open invitation to FBI agents who may face disciplinary actions related to their involvement in the investigation of the January 6th Capitol insurrection. Mills took to social media this week to express his willingness to hire agents who might be pushed out by the federal government due to their work on the high-profile case. This follows a recent memo issued by the Acting Deputy Attorney General, which called for the termination of eight senior FBI officials and directed the Bureau to identify current and former personnel involved in January 6th-related investigations.

In his Facebook post, Mills wrote, “If you're targeted and told to find another job, Palm Springs Police Department will hire you in a heartbeat. Come work in a community that supports you. Have some fun for a change.” Mills sees it as an opportunity to recruit experienced agents who have already been vetted by federal agencies, some of whom hold top-secret security clearances and possess impeccable professional integrity.

Mills elaborated on his reasoning during an interview, stressing the high caliber of individuals that would potentially join his department. “It’s a win-win for me,” he remarked, emphasizing the value of attracting skilled professionals who could bring unique expertise to the Palm Springs Police Department.
