Modernism Week Kicks Off Its 20th Year in Palm Springs

Modernism Week, Palm Springs' signature festival, is back for its 20th year, offering a spectacular celebration of mid-century modern architecture, design, and culture. The event kicked off this evening with an exciting opening night extravaganza, taking place at the Palm Springs Air Museum.

The festival offers over 350 tours, giving attendees a chance to explore famous locations like the House of Tomorrow, the Kauffman House, and Sinatra’s Rat Pack Homes. Attendees will also experience home tours, double-decker bus tours, presentations, talks, films, and cocktail parties, all celebrating the iconic designs of mid-century modernism.

This year's event is expected to attract over 150,000 people to the Coachella Valley, bringing significant economic impact to the area. To support the community, Modernism Week offers a scholarship program, having donated more than $400,000 to local students pursuing careers in architecture and design.

The opening night party, described as a lively celebration, features a nostalgic theme inspired by the music of Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, and Elvis Presley. Guests will be treated to an electrifying atmosphere, vibrant decorations, and a unique Palm Springs 1965 vibe. With about 700 guests expected, the night promises to be an unforgettable experience, combining energetic dancing, delicious food, and excellent entertainment.

As Modernism Week continues, it will undoubtedly remain a highlight for architecture enthusiasts, design aficionados, and those seeking to experience the charm of mid-century modern culture.
