Riverside County Fair & Date Festival Returns for 77th Year—Rain or Shine!
INDIO, CA – The Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival has been a Coachella Valley tradition for 77 years, bringing rides, food, exhibits, and family fun to the region. This year, the festival runs February 13th through March 2nd, operating Thursday through Sunday.
While fairgoers can expect thrilling rides and live entertainment, Mother Nature has a history of making an appearance around opening day. Organizers say they are prepared for unpredictable weather, with wind and rain protocols in place.
“Most of the rides can handle a little rain,” one fair representative shared. “But anything over 40 feet has to be tested for safety, especially in high winds.”
Vendors also feel the impact, but their resilience shines through. “We’ve gone through COVID, extreme heat, wind, and rain—and this community still shows up,” said one food vendor.
For those looking to stay dry and warm, the fairgrounds offer plenty of indoor exhibits, including livestock displays and junior showcases.
Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for children, and $15 for seniors, with parking starting at $10. So, rain or shine, the Date Festival is ready to deliver a fun-filled experience!
