On Saturday, a large crowd gathered at Monster Shakes in Cathedral City to stand with Robert and his family. At one point, the shop was packed, with a line stretching out the door. "We cannot allow race, gender, religion—anything—to get in the way of unity," one speaker said. "We have to step up, no matter how much we shake inside."
