Community Rallies Behind Palm Springs Business Owner Facing Hate
Last week, The Roggin Report introduced viewers to Robert, a local business owner, husband, and father from Palm Springs, who shared his experience with growing hate and discrimination. His story sparked outrage and solidarity, leading to a powerful community show of support over the weekend.
Standing Together Against Hate
On Saturday, a large crowd gathered at Monster Shakes in Cathedral City to stand with Robert and his family. At one point, the shop was packed, with a line stretching out the door. Supporters not only spoke on Robert’s behalf but also for the LGBTQ+ community, which continues to face discrimination.
"We cannot allow race, gender, religion—anything—to get in the way of unity," one speaker said. "We have to step up, no matter how much we shake inside."
A Growing Concern
Robert expressed frustration over increasing incidents of hate, saying:
"We have to focus on running a business, paying the bills—not worrying about who’s going to be upset and stop coming in. But enough is enough. Something needs to be done."
Many at the gathering echoed the sentiment that hate is becoming more prevalent and that now is the time to take action.
A Message of Support
To Robert, his family, and the entire LGBTQ+ community, The Roggin Report sends a clear message:
"We hear you, we are listening, and we will continue to highlight your stories."
