London Symphony Orchestra to Perform at McCallum Theatre
PALM DESERT (CNS) - The London Symphony Orchestra will perform at McCallum Theatre today.
In a presentation by the Palm Springs Friends of Philharmonic, Sir Antonio Pappano will conduct the London Symphony through Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 1 in D major, also known as the ``Titan Symphony.''
Violinist Janine Jansen is also slated to play Felix Mendelsohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, op. 64.
Additionally, the show's program includes Sinfonia No. 5, or "Visions,'' a piece written in response to a white supremacist's 2015 church shooting that killed nine in Charleston, South Carolina.
