Don't Shoot the Messenger - Addressing Community Concerns on Investigations

Recently, some viewers have questioned whether our reporting carries an agenda. We want to be clear: our investigations are driven by public actions and community concerns—not personal vendettas. The perception that we "target" individuals is simply not the case.

Take the Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) investigation. Our coverage began when school board members publicly attempted to discredit the teachers union president. That public action prompted us to look deeper, uncovering a pattern of intimidation and questionable contract decisions.

Similarly, the City of Coachella wasn’t on our radar until a contentious city council meeting over the city manager’s replacement drew over 100 protesters. This led us to examine public records revealing the city's $13 million reserve fund depletion and concerns over nonprofit funding distributions. We found that while the city attorney saw no legal conflict, the optics of council members' personal connections raised valid community questions.

None of this was unearthed through secret means—it was all public. Viewer feedback has been mixed, with some praising the transparency and others expressing frustration. Our job is to provide facts so you can form your own opinions.
