Second-Annual Desert Pet Walk Raises $50,000 for Palm Springs Animal Shelter

The second-annual Desert Pet Walk was a resounding success this year, bringing together animal lovers from across the Coachella Valley to support the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. Held at the shelter, the event saw around 150 people, over 70 dogs, and even one cat join in the walk. The event raised more than $50,000, which will directly benefit the shelter’s important work of caring for local animals.

Palm Springs Animal Shelter volunteers were praised for their dedication and the love they show to the animals every day. Scott Nevins, a board member of the shelter, acknowledged the critical role volunteers and the local community play in ensuring the shelter can continue its vital mission. In addition to daily operations, the shelter also provides food for families in need through its pet bank.

Looking ahead, the Palm Springs Animal Shelter is preparing for its next major fundraiser: the annual “Aux Fur Ball” on April 5th. Tickets are almost sold out, and those interested can find a link to purchase tickets on the shelter’s website. This event was emceed by Palm Springs drag personality, Ethylina Canne, adding an extra flair to the evening’s celebrations. The support from the community is vital in keeping the shelter running and helping animals in need.
