Caltrans to Continue Highway 111 Roadway Project Temporary Lane Closures Expected
Caltrans will resume its ongoing Highway 111 roadway project tomorrow, leading to significant traffic changes in Palm Springs. As part of the construction work, the intersection of Dinah Shore and Gene Autry Trail will be temporarily closed on Monday afternoon, affecting traffic flow in the area. The closure will impact both the inside and outside lanes along Gene Autry Trail. Specifically, the inside lane will close southbound from Dinah Shore to East Palm Canyon Drive, while the outside lane will close from Gene Autry Trail to Camino Parocela.
This construction is part of a larger effort to improve the infrastructure in the region, but it comes with temporary disruptions for local drivers. Motorists are urged to plan for delays and seek alternative routes to avoid the impacted areas. The City of Palm Springs has advised that there will be clear signage to help direct drivers to detours around the construction zone.
Residents and visitors in the area are encouraged to stay updated on roadwork progress and check for any additional advisories from Caltrans. While this construction is necessary for long-term improvements, it’s expected to cause some congestion, so taking an alternate route is strongly recommended during the closure.
