Kaytlyn Blank Makes History as College of the Desert’s First Female Athletic Director
College of the Desert has made history with the appointment of Kaytlyn Blank as its new athletic director, marking the first time a woman has held this leadership role at the school. Blank, who previously served as the athletic director at Norco College, has been credited with playing a pivotal role in shaping the department and setting it up for future success.
Blank is eager to begin her new position in the Coachella Valley, with a focus on building strong relationships with local high schools and the surrounding community. “Building those relationships would be number one,” Blank shared, noting her desire to connect with local high schools and show them that College of the Desert is here to support student-athletes, both academically and athletically. “Whatever their student-athletes need, we want to help support that,” she said, emphasizing the importance of recruiting locally and helping students continue their athletic careers after high school.
In addition to leading the athletics department, Blank has also been named the director of kinesiology at College of the Desert. This dual role will allow her to strengthen the connection between athletics and academics, offering a comprehensive approach to student-athlete development.
Blank’s appointment is a significant milestone for the college, and her experience and commitment to the community will likely play a key role in the continued growth and success of College of the Desert’s athletic programs.
